Experimental and Numerical Study on Flow Control Using 3-Array Submerged Vane in Laboratory Channel Bend

Regulation structures such as submerged vane are needed to reduce and eliminate environmental damage due increased flooding in rivers. In particular, scours on the outer bank flow velocities cause river bed change deteriorate. this study, effect was investigated experimentally by using 3-array areas close bank. The experimental results were performed open channel setup. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) obtained with numerical model also verified compared results. It has been observed that CFD gives real standard-based k-ε used turbulence model. meander, a 3-vane structure found affect velocity 16–27% region behind vane. along depth mean reduced 14–21% depth. is recommended can be applied an effective method reducing directing flows.
